a feminist politics and culture magazine

Zoyra is an independent and deeply feminist magazine. We understand feminism as an imperative response to our present world under threat of collapse. We’re interested in asking meaningful questions about power, choice, capital, technology, culture, labor, pleasure, and our shared futures. We are intentionally low-tech, anti-capitalist, and accessible in practice.

Zoyra mag is seeking curious and thoughtful essays, stories, pitches for regular columns, and feminist book reviews for our first issue. We are currently most in need of book reviews, black and white photography, and essays. To send us a pitch or idea, you can do so on our Subfolio or send us an email. Our inaugural issue's theme is Feminist Ways of Being.

Zoyra is intentionally minimal, slow, and adopts the principles of low tech.

This webpage is static, built with plain HTML and CSS. This helps to lessen energy and environmental impacts. This also results in increased accessibility for people with disabilities, and is a reflection of our effort to balance ethics, visual appeal, and function.
